The Passage: Learning for Life is a one of a kind private school designed specifically for children, teens and young adults with intellectual disabilities. Here, students receive so much more than an ordinary education. We pride ourselves on creating a unique, exciting environment that embraces all types of learners and promotes growth both academically and personally. Students and families are also welcomed into a dynamic and supportive community.

We are committed to helping our students learn to live as independently as possible, differentiating instruction to meet the specific living and working objectives of each individual. We are also committed to creating an educational atmosphere that makes coming here an exciting experience, each and every day. Our programs are intended to empower students to tackle challenges and take on experiences that may be new to them, while keeping learning fun and dynamic.

At The Passage: Learning for Life, we understand that each of our students has individual wants and needs. We believe that learning can only be fostered from a feeling of mutual respect and compassion, and we maintain those values in everything we do. Our unique approach provides students with the proper support system that will help lead them to a successful path.

Dr. Teri Baldwin, EdD

I have had the pleasure of working as a Speech Language Pathologist in the state of Arizona for over 30 years. I specialize in communication, especially through he use of an AAC device, and feeding therapy.

My love of teaching gave me seven years of experience working in Mesa Public Schools, teaching mathematics and coaching new teachers. Since opening The Passage with my mom, Teri, I have become an expert at programming AAC devices to best meet the needs of individual students.

The Passage: Learning for Life, LLC does not discriminate on the basis of disability in its programs, services, activities and employment practices. The Passage: Learning for Life, LLC is committed to providing a safe environment for all its employees free from discrimination on any ground and from harassment at work including sexual harassment. The Passage: Learning for Life, LLC will operate a zero tolerance policy for any form of sexual harassment in the workplace, treat all incidents seriously and promptly investigate all allegations of sexual harassment. Any person found to have sexually harassed another will face disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal from employment. All complaints of sexual harassment will be taken seriously and treated with respect and in confidence. No one will be victimised for making such a complaint.
